Motivity’s “Set Your Course” Summer Camp Series – 2015

June 25, 2015 by Motivity

Thank you to Ricardo Martin, Principal of Durfee Elementary/Middle. Motivity is honored to host its, “Set Your Course” Summer Camp within your school. This camp is designed to guide students through a process of preparing for personal, educational and relationship success.

As Motivity’s work expands to include a range of personal and leadership development, we are joined by some of the most committed and dedicated community leaders in Detroit. Partnering with us will be, The Greening of Detroit, providing healthy food/cooking demonstrations. The State Police will provide violence prevention training. Tim Ferguson of Nvested Energy, also the former Mr. Michigan, will provide a healthy workout training and his signature program, “Identity.” Donyale Edwards of Youth With Purpose will provide leadership training workshops and finally, scholarships to Gail Perry-Mason’s “Money Matters for Youth” have been provided to each Motivity camper. Finally, students will create a mural and donate this work to Durfee Elementary/Middle school.

Among our field trips is a visit to Forgotten Harvest Farms and a Fine Dining Etiquette workshop at Meriwethers, in Southfield. This workshop is provided by H.I.S. Agency, the originator of the “You Are the Gift” Conferences for girls.

We are delighted that we have been provided this tremendous opportunity to expand our programs as the result of a grant awarded by Community Connections. A Prevention Network and Skillman funded agency.
